Southend have cancelled the contract of striker Scott Spencer by mutual consent and the player is set to join Lincoln.
The 22-year-old was restricted to just six appearances this season under manager Paul Sturrock. The former Everton trainee moved to Roots Hall in January 2010 and made 12 appearances last season, scoring four times. The forward revealed on Twitter that he is set to join Southend's League Two rivals Lincoln City, where he would be reunited with former Shrimpers boss Steve Tilson.
