Olivier Kapo insists he had no option but to quit Celtic after he feels the club moved the goalposts regarding his contract.
The French winger played for free for the club while on trial and he was of the understanding he would sign an 18-month deal at Parkhead.
Kapo made two appearances for the SPL giants, however, after being told his contract would be diluted and shortened his hand was forced.
Celtic claimed on Wednesday that they rejected the chance to retain Kapo, something the winger refutes.
Turn of events
"When I joined the Bhoys I had a contract that tied me to the club until 2012, with a three-month trial period," he told his
personal website.
"I didn't ask for any wages during that period. The club's directors were morally committed. On January 11 there was a sudden turn of events.
"The executive directors called me and told me about reorganising my contract which was to be divided by three and which would end in June 2011.
"I felt I was being treated unfairly. Despite the insistence from Neil Lennon and the technical staff I didn't want to remain at the club any longer."
