Cicinho is to see out the season at Villarreal after securing a loan switch from Roma.
The deal to take the Brazilian full-back to El Madrigal includes the option for a permanent switch to be made in the summer.
The 30-year-old will undergo a medical on Friday before putting the finishing touches to the move.
Cicinho will be hoping to recapture his best form upon returning to Spain, where he has previously taken in two years at Real Madrid.

He departed the Santiago Bernabeu in 2007 after slipping down the pecking order, opting to take on a new challenge at Roma.
After enjoying initial success in Italy, he has again drifted out of favour in recent seasons and took in a spell on loan with Sao Paulo last season.
The Samba star will now be hoping to get his career back on track at Villarreal, with there every chance he will be given plenty of opportunity to shine.
