South Korean striker excited by French test

Auxerre new boy Jung Jo-gook has expressed his delight at securing a move to Europe. The South Korea international has completed a switch from FC Seoul now that the transfer window in France has re-opened. The 26-year-old striker arrives in Ligue 1 with a reputation as a hard-working frontman with a keen eye for goal. Jung hopes he will be given ample opportunity to showcase those attributes over the course of his contract at Auxerre, with it having always been a dream of his to compete in Europe.

Opportunity

"I am here thanks to Park Chu-young (former team-mate currently playing for Monaco)," he told L'Equipe. "He told me that Auxerre always keep their best players. "Watching some of their matches, I have discovered that Le Championnat has some outstanding defences. "It is a great opportunity for me to come and play here. Playing in Europe is an old dream that has now come true."
