Juventus speculation dismissed

Ezequiel Schelotto's agent has dismissed reports linking the Cesena winger with a move to Juventus. The 21-year-old is regarded as an exciting prospect for the future and Juve were thought to be interested in snaring him in January. However, Schelotto's representative Franco Zavaglia insists there is no substance in the speculation and has ruled out a departure when the transfer window reopens. "These are just voices which find no meaning in reality as there has never been any contact. There is nothing true," Zavaglia told Calciomercato.com. "Schelotto is a Cesena player and he will not leave them during the winter transfer window. He has never spoken with Juventus."

Keen to strengthen

Cesena are embroiled in a scrap for survival in Serie A and are currently outside the relegation zone on goal difference alone. However, manager Massimo Ficcadenti is looking to strengthen his squad in the New Year and is determined to beat the drop. "I have two priorities - a striker and a central defender," Ficcadenti told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "We will fight until the final second of the final game. The first half of the season has been good. Our objective was to stay in touch with the group. "We have done that and we want to defend our precious place in Serie A. We have paid a little for our inexperience in a league of high quality."
