Booth signs long-term Easter Road deal

Hibs manager Colin Calderwood has expressed his delight at starlet Callum Booth's decision to sign a long-term contract. The 19-year-old utility man, who is currently on loan with Brechin, has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with Hibs. Calderwood has heard good things about the youngster's time with Brechin and believes he is very much one for the future. "Callum is a player who has impressed me on the training pitch and the feedback we have received about his performances for Brechin has been very positive," stated Calderwood.

Hunger

"He has shown a good attitude and a hunger to learn and that suggests that he will continue to progress over the next few years at the club. "He has a lot of ability and the fact that he can play in both defence and midfield offers us different options. He will be a valuable member of the squad." Booth is due back at Hibs in the New Year and he is now hoping to reward the club's faith in his ability by breaking into the first team. "I am hoping to make 2011 even better by making the breakthrough at first-team level," said Booth. "However, I know I will have to be patient."
