Hannover's out-of-favour former Germany striker Mike Hanke is to join Borussia Monchengladbach.

Germany international will leave in winter transfer window

Hannover's out-of-favour former Germany striker Mike Hanke is to join Borussia Monchengladbach. The 27-year-old has agreed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Bundesliga's rock-bottom club. Hanke had seen his first-team opportunities become limited under Mirko Slomka at Hannover this season. And so the former Schalke and Wolfsburg player will move on with six months remaining on his contract in the winter transfer window. Hanke, who has 12 international caps to his name, joined fourth-placed Hannover in 2007.
