Liverpool's Joe Cole looks set to make his first appearance in five weeks in Thursday's Europa League meeting with Steaua Bucharest.
The playmaker has been undergoing a period of rehabilitation after suffering a hamstring injury in his club's 1-0 win at Bolton at the end of October.
But manager Roy Hodgson has included Cole in a 19-man squad that will fly to Romania on Wednesday ahead of their midweek match.
Fernando Torres, however, will remain in England, while Dirk Kuyt, Raul Meireles, Glen Johnson and Paul Konchesky will also stay at home.
Steven Gerrard (hamstring) and Jamie Carragher (shoulder) are unavailable, but reserves right-back John Flanagan is involved in the first-team setup for the first time.
