Ben Khalifa will not leave on loan; Hitz set for new deal

Managing director Dieter Hoeness has rejected suggestions that Wolfsburg are going to allow Nassim Ben Khalifa to leave on loan. Hoeness has also insisted that he is planning to extend the contract of Swiss goalkeeper Marwin Hitz, who started Saturday's defeat to Bayer Leverkusen in the injury-enforced absence of Diego Benaglio. Ben Khalifa joined Wolfsburg in the summer and is under contract until 2014, but there have been suggestions he might leave on a temporary basis. But Hoeness is adamant that Ben Khalifa and Hitz feature in the club's plans for the future.

Hoeness told Wolfsburger Allemeine Zeitung newspaper: "At this point in time we are not interested in allowing him (Ben Khalifa) to join another club on loan. "He will be able to learn the best at our club." He added: "It's a fact that we have the intention to sign on with Marwin Hitz. We asked him two weeks ago to set a date to negotiate with him and his representatives. We want to carry on with him." Hitz said: "I feel fine at this club. I am ready to have talks." Manager Steve McClaren said: "I am trust his services. We keep our faith in Marwin."
