Arsenal youngster to play in friendly against Glentoran

Rangers have taken Arsenal youngster Nacer Barazite on trial with a view to a possible move to Ibrox. The 20-year-old striker has represented Holland at all youth levels and has three caps for their Under-21 side, but has struggled to make an impact at Arsenal. Barazite has been at the Premier League club since 2006 and has made three first-team appearances, the last of which was against West Brom in the Carling Cup last season. After spending the 2008/2009 season on loan to Derby County, he failed to establish himself at Arsenal last term after suffering from shoulder injury problems that required surgery. But an impressive performance against Glentoran on Tuesday in front of Ibrox coach Ian Durrant could convince Rangers to offer Barazite a deal. "Nacer will be on trial for us," Durrant told the Evening Times. "It's a good opportunity in a competitive match for us to have a look at him."
