Midfielder makes Germany move

Stuttgart have completed the signing of Johan Audel on a four-year contract from Valenciennes. The 26-year-old midfielder revealed on Monday that he had agreed a deal with the Bundesliga outfit and was all set to seal a switch to Germany. He has since passed a medical and completed the formalities of the move. The details of the transfer have not been disclosed, with both sides keen to keep matters under wraps. Audel had been contracted to Valenciennes until 2011, but had made it clear this summer that he was keen to move on.

Qualities

He has now got his wish and is all set to begin a new chapter in his career in the German top flight. He arrives with a reputation as a goal-scoring midfielder, having scored 23 goals in the last three seasons in France, and Stuttgart are delighted to have added player of his calibre to their ranks. Director of Sport Fredi Bobic told the club's official website: "With the qualities he possesses, Johan fits perfectly into our profile of requirements. "We are convinced that he will quickly find his way at VfB and in the Bundesliga."
