St Mirren boss Danny Lennon has released assistant Andy Millen while Chris Innes is also leaving.

Millen and Innes leaving Buddies

St Mirren's new manager Danny Lennon has released assistant Andy Millen while Chris Innes will not be offered new terms. Lennon was appointed as the Buddies' new boss recently and has sanctioned Millen's exit to make space for his own backroom staff. The Paisley club have reached agreement with Millen over his contract and Saints chairman Stuart Gilmour has thanked him for his services. "We'd like to thank Andy for everything he's done for the club and wish him all the best for the future," said Gilmour.

Defender leaving

Meanwhile, Lennon has also decided not to offer out-of-contract defender Innes fresh terms. Innes has no qualms with the decision, telling the Express Sports: "I got a call from my agent, saying that I wasn't in the new manager's plans, but there are no hard feelings. It's football. "The manager has his own plans and he wants to do things his way and, obviously, he's either got another centre-half in mind or he'll go with what he's got. "I enjoyed my time with St Mirren and I feel I had a good rapport with the fans. I'll be sad to go but I'll always keep an eye on their results."
