Midfielder signs new four-year deal

Rodrigo Taddei has put an end to speculation about his future by signing a new long-term contract with Roma. The Brazilian midfielder has been at the Stadio Olimpico since 2005 and last season helped the club finish second to Inter Milan in Serie A. But 30-year-old's good form reportedly attracted interest from elsewhere and a number of clubs were reportedly eager to snap him up this summer. Fiorentina, Valencia and Sevilla were among those linked with Taddei, although he had always made it clear he was happy with Roma. And he has now put pen to paper on a contract extension to keep him at the club for a further four years. "A.S. Roma and Rodrigo Ferrante Taddei wish to make public, with mutual satisfaction, an agreement for the extension of the player's contract until the end of June 30, 2014," read an official club statement.
