Promising Shrews striker loaned to Hinckley to get playing time

Promising Shrewsbury striker Andre Gray has been loaned to Hinckley United to aid his development. The 18-year-old has switched to the Blue Square Conference North outfit on an emergency one-month's loan. The spell away will be Gray's second of the season after the teenager was loaned to AFC Telford for a couple of months earlier this term. Shrewsbury boss Paul Simpson believes the 18-year-old has plenty of promise but is not quite the finished article yet and another loan spell will do the youngster 'a world of good'.

Difficult

Simpson told the club's official website: "It's been difficult for Andre as he came back from his loan spell with Telford and because of the players that we have available for us, Andre was finding himself on the bench, even for the reserves. "We had a call from Hinckley to see if he will go on loan there and I think it will do him the world of good. "For me technically he isn't quite there for our first team yet. We can all see the pace and the strength that he had got and that can be a threat, but at the end of that pace and strength there needs to be an end product. "We have worked with him all season on improving all aspects of his game and he now needs to go out and get games. "I'm hoping that he goes to Hinckley, gets a good run of games over the month and we can keep monitoring him and see if he is showing enough to come back into our group and if there is enough there for next season that we can keep working with."
