Estonian wins move to Bramall Lane after successful trial

Sheffield United have signed Estonia international goalkeeper Mihkel Aksalu on a two-and-a-half-year deal. The 25-year-old has joined the Blades for a nominal fee from FC Flora Tallinn and will compete for the number one jersey with Mark Bunn and Ian Bennett. Aksalu has been on several trials at United over the past two months and has done enough to impress Blades manager Kevin Blackwell. Blackwell was delighted to land the keeper after he caught the eye during his trial spell. "He has proved to be one of the best goalkeeping trialists we have seen for a long time," Blackwell told the club's official website. "It's a terrific opportunity for him and if he continues his development he will become the number one Estonian goalkeeper. "We are hoping he can fulfil his undoubted potential with Sheffield United and cement his international career."
