Bairns defender undergoes Achilles surgery

Falkirk could be without Pedro Pele for the remainder of the season after he ruptured his Achilles tendon. The Portuguese defender underwent surgery on Thursday after suffering the blow in their midweek draw with Motherwell. The 31-year-old arrived in November after being released by West Brom and his contract with the Bairns is set to expire in the summer. Boss Eddie May - who blamed Falkirk's pitch for the injury - told the Herald: "Pele had been doing well for us, was coming on to a right game and looked a big player for us for the rest of the season. "But it's not to be and it's a real shame for him. Since he came in from West Brom his attitude has been fantastic, the way he has mixed with the lads."

Offer rejected

Meanwhile, Falkirk have confirmed they have rejected an offer from an unnamed Greek Super League club for Vitor Lima. Falkirk believe Lima is happy with the SPL club despite the prospect of securing a more lucrative contract in Greece. "Lima indicated to manager Eddie May that he was very happy with life at Falkirk and had no desire to leave despite potential for the player to receive significantly improved financial terms in Greece," read a club statement.
