Experienced defender back on loan for relegation fight
Experienced defender Alan White has returned to Darlington on loan from Luton Town for the remainder of the season.
The committed centre-back departed the Darlington Arena in the summer after the Quakers were plunged into administration and dropped into the Blue Square Premier with the Hatters.
The 33-year-old has now agreed a deal which will see him return to his hometown club for the remainder of the season as they battle to stay in the Football League.
Steve Staunton's side, who have not played since 12th December due to the recent frozen conditions, have only eight points to show from their opening 21 games and are a mammoth 14 points away from safety.
Desperate
White is expected to go straight into Staunton's squad for Saturday's home meeting with Aldershot and is the sixth new face to arrive during January.
"I'm absolutely delighted to be bringing Alan back," Staunton told the
Northern Echo.
"It's a terrific signing for us and one that I've been keen to do since the window opened.
"What was very pleasing was that Alan was desperate to come back. He loves his home town and couldn't get up here quick enough to do the deal, which shows how much he's desperate to play for us and to help us stay in League Two.''
