Carlisle full-back allowed out to gain more first-team experience

Darlington boss Colin Todd has continued to strengthen his squad by signing Carlisle United full-back Tony Kane on a month's loan. Kane signed a two-year deal with Carlisle in the summer following an impressive loan spell from Blackburn Rovers, but he has made just one appearance this season. Carlisle boss Greg Abbott feels the 22-year-old needs to be playing regularly and has allowed Kane to join League Two strugglers Darlington. "It's another situation where it would be good for the player to get first-team football, and he hasn't been getting that regularly with us," Abbott told the club's official website. "It will be good for him to play competitive football at League Two level and he should come back to us sharp and ready to go." The Quakers have also signed Jamie Devitt and Russell Hoult on loan this week ahead of Saturday's League Two fixture at home to Bournemouth.
