Incoming goalkeeper backed by compatriot

Maros Klimpl is backing Slovakian compatriot Dusan Pernis to be a huge hit with Dundee United next year. The MSK Zilina shot-stopper is due at Tannadice in January after signing a pre-contract with United. Little is known of Pernis and Klimpl, who plays for Dundee after spending last season on loan at Motherwell, believes that will only work to his advantage. Klimpl believes the 24-year-old has the quality to shine in the SPL and that he will prove a good signing for manager Craig Levein.

"Not many people will know much about Dusan which is understandable but I can tell them he's a top quality keeper - one of the most highly-rated young guys around," said Klimpl. "I have seen him play a lot in Slovakia and the one thing you could say is that nothing really fazes him during games. "He also has the right sort of temperament for the big stage which keepers must have. Going to places such as Celtic Park and Ibrox will suit him down to the ground because he's young, full of confidence and seems to thrive on a challenge. "Dusan is very tall so likes to command his box and is a very good shot-stopper. He has everything you look for in a modern-day keeper so I'm sure he will prove to be a very good signing for Dundee United. "They're a big club going places so it's a smart move from his point of view, the kind that can only boost his career even further in the right direction."
