Ryan Crowther is ready for a fresh start as he looks to kick-start his career after leaving Liverpool.
The talented winger quit Liverpool earlier this week after cancelling his contract by mutual consent following two seasons at Anfield.
Liverpool beat a host of top clubs to Crowther's signature from Stockport in 2007, with the midfielder having caught the eye of teams higher up the football pyramid after becoming the Hatters' youngest ever captain at 17 during his time at Edgeley Park.
Crowther failed to make the breakthrough into Liverpool's star-studded first team and the 20-year-old felt he had no choice but to leave if he wanted to progress in his career.
Despite calling an end to his time at Liverpool, Crowther has no regrets about making the move to Anfield and believes he learned a lot during his time on Merseyside.
"Being the age I am now at 20 I felt I needed to move on from Liverpool," Crowther told
skysports.com.
"There were not many opportunities to play at Liverpool and I thought it was best I got out now as I want to be playing first-team football on a regular basis.
No regrets
"I have no regrets about making the move to Liverpool in the first place.
"I think most 18-year-olds would love the opportunity to join a club as big as Liverpool, but the lack of opportunities made up my mind to leave.
"There was quite a bit of interest in me when I was at Stockport as when I was there I became their youngest ever captain at 17.
"It did not work out for me at Liverpool, but I feel I learned a lot during my time there.
"Having the chance to train with the first team now and again and playing with world-class players can only help you as a player."
Interest
Despite only recently leaving Anfield, Crowther is not short of options and he is confident he will soon find himself a new employer.
"There have been a couple of opportunities come up already and I am looking at the offers available," added Crowther.
"My agent David Threlfall is speaking to a few clubs and I am ready to go train with anyone to prove myself.
"I am confident in my ability and I have no doubts in my mind that I will get myself a decent club.
"In leaving Liverpool it is a case of taking one step back to make two steps forward in the future hopefully."
