Promising youngster bolsters Hertha defence

Promising defender Nemanja Pejcinovic has joined Hertha Berlin on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent deal. The 21-year-old has switched from Serbian side Rad Belgrade to the Bundesliga outfit, who have an option to sign him permanently on a three-year contract. The versatile defender, who has one Serbian cap, will help fill the gap left by Josip Simunic's departure to Hoffenheim earlier this summer and Hertha's sporting director Michael Preetz is delighted with the capture. "Nemanja Pejcinovic is a young and very talented player, who can play in several positions in defence," Preetz told the club's official website.
