Striker moves on loan with view to a permanent deal

Peterborough United striker Liam Hatch has joined Luton Town on loan with a view to a permanent transfer. Hatch has started just one game for Peterborough since a £150,000 move from Barnet in January 2008 and he finished last season on loan at Darlington. He has since been placed on the transfer list by Posh and was the subject of interest from League Two side Lincoln City. However, Peterborough's director of football Barry Fry said Hatch was out of Lincoln's price range with several clubs chasing the 27-year-old. A season-long loan with Blue Square Premier outfit Luton has now been agreed, with Fry happy with the arrangement. Fry told the club's official website: "Liam was interesting a dozen clubs and I think it just goes to show that Luton are desperate to only stay out of the Football League for one season. "Hopefully it will be a move to benefit all parties."
