Bantams boss issues threat to walk away

Bradford supporters have been urged to get behind Stuart McCall in a bid to persuade the Bantams boss not to carry out his threat to quit. McCall, who has been at the helm of the Valley Parade outfit since May 2007, admitted he could walk away if the club fail to make the League Two play-offs. Four successive defeats have seen Bradford slide down the table, although they are still only one point and one place away from the top seven. McCall made his comments after the recent 4-1 defeat at Bournemouth, but joint-chairman Mark Lawn believes fan power could make him change his mind.

Lawn told the club's official website: "Stuart McCall loves this club and he loves the supporters. "If the supporters turn round and back him, it's a more powerful argument than I can give. "If people want Stuart to stay, then get behind him and commit to your season-ticket. "That says that even if we don't get in the play-offs we still want you here - and then I think Stuart will stay whatever happens." Meanwhile, Bradford defender Simon Ainge has joined Blue Square Premier promotion-chasers Cambridge on loan until the end of the season. The 20-year-old has made only one first-team appearance for Bradford this season - during the home draw with Luton in October. Ainge completed his deadline-day loan switch in time to be included in Cambridge's league clash at Woking on Monday.
