Teenage Tranmere Rovers defender Luke Waterfall has joined Altrincham Town on a month's loan to get some first-team football under his belt.
The 18-year-old has made two appearances for Rovers this term after joining the League one outfit from Barnsley in the summer.
He started in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy game against Accrington Stanley and came off the bench in the Carling Cup at Grimsby.
Rovers manager Ronnie Moore believes the switch to Moss Lane will do the teenager the world of good.
He told the club's official website: "Luke is a talented young defender who needs to be playing games.
"He'll get some great experience at Altrincham, will benefit from his time there and hopefully come back to push for a place in the team here."
