Hoffenheim boss Ralf Rangnick believes Marvin Compper is worthy of a place in the Germany team.
The central defender has played a key role in Hoffenheim's fantastic start to the Bundesliga season.
The newly promoted side are currently second in the table and Rangnick has urged Germany coach Joachim Low to consider Compper.
"People are always saying that there are no decent German centre-backs," Rangnick told dpa.
"But if the DFB did some thorough scouting then they would soon come across Marvin Compper.
"There are not ten better players than him in Germany, I can say that for certain."
Hoffenheim, who have collected 10 points from five matches, continue their campaign away to Werder Bremen on Saturday.
