IF Elfsborg keeper Johan Wiland has emerged as a possible Tottenham target.

Spurs express interest in Swedish shot-stopper

Tottenham have made an enquiry over Swedish shot-stopper Johan Wiland. The IF Elfsborg keeper has caught the attention of clubs with string of solid displays in the last few seasons. The 27-year-old has been with Elfsborg since 1997 and has been the club's first choice keeper since 2001. He has earned three caps and is ranked as No.3 in Sweden after first choice Andreas Isaksson and Rami Shaaban.

Truly fun

Wiland told Boras Tidning: "It's truly fun that they get in touch - it's flattering. "I have got a long term contract with Elfsborg and I am not in a hurry to leave. If something serious happens, I will get to know that." Agent Johan Svensson confirmed that Spurs had been in touch. "They called and enquired. They asked about Johan's situation at Elfsborg," he said. The interest comes as Spurs have signed Brazilian international keeper Heurelho Gomes from PSV Eindhoven this summer and also sold Paul Robinson to Blackburn Rovers for £3.5million.
