Hannover 96 midfielder Hanno Balitsch has agreed a new two-year contract extension.
The 27-year-old put pen to paper on the new deal on Wednesday, committing himself to the AWD Arena until 2010.
Balitsch has played a central role in Hannover's improved fortunes in the past two seasons and has now been rewarded for his efforts.
The former Germany U21 international, who joined Hannover from Mainz in 2005, explained that decisions taken off the pitch this season had helped to sway his decision.
He said: "Coach Dieter Hecking and general manager Christian Hochstatter both have contracts until 2010 and so we can all expect the positive development to continue."
