Italy coach Marcello Lippi has announced a list of 29 players who will join up for a pre-World Cup training camp in Rome.
Lippi is looking to finalise his plans ahead of the deadline for naming his squad on May 15 and the 29 players will meet at 'La Borghesiana' on May 2 and 3.
There are no players from either Roma or Internazionale due to their involvement in the Coppa Italia final, so it is likely that well over 30 players are still in Lippi's thinking.
Empoli striker Francesco Tavano, Chievo midfielder Franco Semioli and Fiorentina defender Allessandro Gamberini are included for the first time, while there is a recall for the first time in two years for Milan's Filippo Inzaghi.
Inzaghi is delighted with the chance to shine, having overcome two years of injury torment to figure regularly for Milan.
"Lippi has called me. I'm going to the pre-World Cup training camp in Rome," he told Sky Italia. "I'm pleased. To come back into the national side after two years' absence is something extraordinary.
"I've always been out because of injury. Now I've got a big desire to play.
"The national team is special for every player. I'll do my best to train hard, to fit in with my team-mates, even if many of them already know me well."
The 29 players called to the camp are:
Keepers: Amelia (Livorno), Buffon (Juventus), De Sanctis (Udinese), Peruzzi (Lazio)
