Nottingham Forest could move out of the relegation zone with victory over Doncaster on Boxing Day.

Perch and Tyson back; Mills and Woods return for visitors

Nottingham Forest could move out of the relegation zone with victory over Doncaster Rovers on Boxing Day. The promoted club recorded their fourth Championship win of the season last weekend and could rise out of the bottom three should they better Southampton's result at Plymouth. Bottom-of-the-table Doncaster, meanwhile, will be seeking what could prove to be a vital scalp as they look to halt a run of three straight losses. Forest boss Colin Calderwood will welcome back James Perch and Nathan Tyson for the clash at the City Ground. Midfielder Perch missed the 2-0 win over Southampton on Saturday following a one-match ban for collecting five bookings this season. Tyson has recovered from a knock picked up against Blackpool on 13th December but faces a battle to win his place back following the impressive form of striker Rob Earnshaw. Midfielder Lewis McGugan is pushing for a starting berth after coming on as a late second-half substitute against the Saints following a thigh injury. Centre-back Wes Morgan will continue to play on despite being told he must undergo a hernia operation in the near future. Fellow midfielder Guy Moussi remains Calderwood's only long-term injury absentee with ankle ligament damage.

Rovers team news

Doncaster manager Sean O'Driscoll welcomes back defender Matthew Mills and midfielder Martin Woods for the trip to Forest. The duo were suspended for the visit of Championship leaders Wolves last Saturday. Skipper Brian Stock suffered mild concussion after a collision in the 1-0 defeat to Mick McCarthy's side but should feature while James Coppinger remains a doubt with an ankle injury. O'Driscoll will make a late decision on the fitness of defender Adam Lockwood after he picked up a nasty facial injury against Wolves. Should Lockwood miss out, Mills should return to the starting line-up alongside Sam Hird. A run of three consecutive defeats has seen Rovers slip to the foot of the Championship and O'Driscoll's men have won just one of their last seven outings.
