Lincoln looked more organised after the break with Stefan Oakes forcing a full-length save from Brain in the 53rd minute. Substitute Ricky Sappleton twice nearly equalised in the closing stages, forcing a good save from Rob Burch with a 15-yard drive in the 83rd minute and then seeing a looping header clawed wide by the flying Burch at the death.
