Macclesfield v Gillingham preview

Team news for Saturday's League Two clash between Macclesfield Town and Gillingham at Moss Rose.

Macclesfield welcome back Carl Tremarco from suspension. The Silkmen remain without Ross Draper, who serves the second match of a three-game ban following his dismissal in the 2-1 defeat at Barnet. Draper's fellow midfielder Lewis Chalmers will miss the game after suffering a stomach strain, and he is facing two weeks on the sidelines alongside forward John Grant (calf) Elliot Hewitt has resumed light training but next weekend's trip to Shrewsbury remains a more realistic target for the defender. Adam Roberts is set to see a specialist next week to have a piece of bone removed from his ankle, and the midfielder heads a lengthy list of long-term injury absentees including Greg Daniel (knee), Ben Tomlinson (ankle) and Scott Kay (thigh). Meanwhile, Jo Kuffour and Frank Nouble return for Gillingham. The strike pair, on loan from Bristol Rovers and West Ham respectively, have both been denied permission by their parent clubs to feature in the FA Cup for Gills and so missed last weekend's 1-0 victory at Leyton Orient. Matchwinner Curtis Weston is available having sustained a slight knock at Brisbane Road which forced him off in injury time. As is fellow midfielder Chris Whelpdale who was due to make his return from a chest infection in the cup tie but was withdrawn on medical advice on the morning of the game, although with an extra week under his belt he is now fit for selection. Matt Lawrence has also served his one-match suspension and returns into contention although the defender has been struggling with a minor knee problem this week.
