Rochdale will be aiming to cement their play-off berth when they travel to already-relegated Luton.

Nicholls back from suspension; Hill eyeing Jones boost

Rochdale will be aiming to cement their play-off berth when they travel to already-relegated Luton Town on Saturday. Luton skipper Kevin Nicholls will return from suspension for the last home match of the season against play-off chasing Rochdale. Nicholls missed the midweek home defeat to Wycombe due to a one-game ban following his dismissal in last Saturday's draw at Barnet. Striker Chris Martin returned from his ban in midweek and is likely to retain his place up front alongside Tom Craddock. Veteran forward Kevin Gallen and Lewis Emanuel, fit again following a knee injury, were second-half substitutes on Tuesday and are pushing for recalls. Manager Mick Harford has no new injury or suspension problems and is not expected to make too many changes as the Hatters bid to bow out in front of their home faithful on a high note after a heartbreaking relegation that ends 89 years in the Football League.

      Rochdale team news

Rochdale boss Keith Hill could be boosted by the return of skipper Gary Jones for the trip to Luton. Midfielder Jones has missed the last 12 games due to a groin injury but he is steadily returning to full fitness and is expected to be available. However, Hill will again be without Craig Dawson, Scott Wiseman and Kallum Higginbotham due to injury. Defenders Dawson (dead leg), Wiseman (hernia) and Higginbotham (ankle) have all trained this week but are not yet ready to return to action. Hill is hoping to have the trio available for next weekend's final game of the regular season at home to Gillingham. Rochdale's hopes of winning automatic promotion have all but ended after a run of just one win in their last six outings.
