Lorient's Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew in action against PSG

Lorient moved two points above the Ligue 1 relegation spots following a dour goalless draw at home to Bordeaux.

Fresh from their 5-3 defeat of Marseille last week, which moved them out of the bottom three, Sylvain Ripoll's men inched further clear of the drop zone with three games of the season remaining.

However, this was a game that will not live long in the memory, with both sides lacking a cutting edge at the Stade du Moustoir.

Bordeaux, who remain sixth in the standings, had the first opportunity when the ball was laid off to Diego Rolan, whose volley from the edge of the area only narrowly went over.

Lorient had to wait until the 35th minute for their first sight at goal as Walid Mesloub's corner found Jordan Ayew, who turned the ball towards goal with his knee to force Girondins goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso to make the save.

Rolan then had another sight at goal just before the interval but his strike was blocked by Lorient custodian Benjamin Lecomte.

Lorient continued to threaten from set pieces after the interval, this time Wesley Lautoa's header from Mesloub's corner forced Carrasso to tip over.

The visitors picked up the pace a little thereafter and Frederic Guilbert's strike forced a decent save from Lecomte, who was called into action again when he denied Rolan's header.

Bordeaux nearly claimed all three points in the final minute but the dangerous Rolan missed the target when through on goal as the spoils were shared.
