Liverpool sign Diaz from Porto on five-and-a-half-year deal

Liverpool have signed winger Luis Diaz from Porto for an initial fee of £37m.

The 25-year-old has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with the Premier League side and will wear the number 23 shirt.

The fee for Diaz could rise to as much as £49m if potential add-ons are triggered during his time at Anfield.

The Colombia international was a top target for manager Jurgen Klopp in the summer, but interest from Tottenham this month accelerated their plans.

Spurs wanted to sign Diaz during the current window and were willing to pay up to £46m, but the winger preferred a move to Liverpool.

Who else have Liverpool been linked with?

Liverpool are interested in signing attacking midfielder Fabio Carvalho from Fulham (Sky Sports, January 30); Liverpool have been keeping a close eye on Carvalho, the Portuguese attacking midfielder who has helped propel Fulham's insatiable scoring run (Mirror, January 22). Marco Silva has told Fulham teenage hotshot Carvalho to keep his feet on the ground and not jump too soon in his bid to boost his career amid January transfer window interest from Liverpool (Daily Express, January 20); Liverpool are ready to battle West Ham for Fulham teenager Carvalho as they weigh up a £5m January swoop for the 19-year-old (The Sun, January 19).

Paulo Dybala is reportedly 'keen' to join Liverpool after the Premier League side made contact with him after talks over a new contract at Juventus collapsed (Daily Star, January 27).

Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City will try to sign Endrick when he turns 16 in July (Sky Sports News, January 25).

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing West Ham winger Jarrod Bowen, Raphinha and Napoli's Fabian Ruiz (The Sun, December 27); Liverpool are monitoring West Ham forward Bowen and Leeds winger Raphinha as future transfer targets, according to reports (Daily Mail, December 10); Bayern Munich are stepping up their interest in Leeds star Raphinha to rival Liverpool (The Sun, December 28).

Liverpool are poised to trigger the £75m release clause of 23-year-old Sevilla defender Jules Kounde, who is attracting interest from Chelsea and Real Madrid (El Nacional, January 11).

'Liverpool won't let Minamino go unless they get a serious offer'

SSN Chief Reporter Kaveh Solhekol on 'The Transfer Show' (January 27):

"Minamino is a player who has not been playing regularly, he has only started six games this season, four of those were in the Carabao Cup, but Liverpool's thinking is we are still in four competitions and we do not want to let him go unless we receive a serious offer.

"They are always very firm in the transfer market, they always get good prices for the players they sell and they are sticking to their valuation with Minamino."

The latest players linked with a Liverpool exit

Three players who could leave Liverpool are Takumi Minamino, Divock Origi and Nat Phillips. Leeds and Monaco are interested in Minamino (Sky Sports News, January 30).

Bournemouth have expressed an interest in taking Neco Williams on loan. Liverpool are weighing up the interest (Sky Sports News, January 30).

Liverpool's forgotten man Divock Origi is at the centre of a three-club tug-of-war, with Italian sides Fiorentina and Atalanta taking on Burnley (Sun on Sunday, January 30); Divock Origi's representatives have been approached by three Italian clubs regarding a pre-contract agreement this month. Origi's preference, however, is to stay in England, meaning either a Premier League club would have to pay money this month or take him as a free agent in the summer when his contract runs out. The Belgium international may wait until the summer to fully assess his options (Sky Sports, January 6).

Liverpool could allow defenders Neco Williams and Nat Phillips to leave the club in the January transfer window (Sky Sports, January 5); Phillips is ready for a move away from Liverpool in January if the Anfield club receive an acceptable offer, which is believed to be in the region of £15m. Liverpool have already rejected a £7m bid from an unnamed Premier League side (Sky Sports, December 5); Liverpool could allow Williams to leave the club in the January transfer window, with the 20-year-old very conscious of his place in the Wales team (Sky Sports, December 5).

Liverpool have rejected initial approaches from Leeds and Monaco for forward Takumi Minamino (PA, January 27).

Real Madrid are monitoring Liverpool defender Joe Gomez ahead of a potential move next summer (Daily Mail, December 22); Aston Villa have submitted a proposal to Liverpool to sign centre-back Gomez, according to reports (Daily Express, December 20); Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard has made a defender his priority and could raid his former club Liverpool for Gomez (Daily Mirror, November 28).

Mohamed Salah is refusing to budge on his belief that he is worth £400,000-a-week to Liverpool (Daily Star on Sunday, January 16); Salah says he is "not asking for crazy stuff" in contract talks, as he reiterated it is up to Liverpool to decide his future.
