Group A opponents aim to follow Ghana's lead

Morocco will expect to get their Africa Cup of Nations challenge off to a winning start against Namibia. Hosts Ghana started Group A with a 2-1 win over Guinea on Sunday, and Morocco will look to follow suit. Henri Michel's side have been in good form in the build-up to the tournament and will expect Youssef Hadji and Marouane Chamakh to provide the spark. However, Morocco are without exciting midfielder Mbark Boussoufa, with the Anderlecht ace missing the tournament through injury.

      Namibia news

Surprise qualifiers Namibia are playing for the memory of former coach Ben Bamfuchile, who died from illness last month. Bamfuchile had led Namibia to a place in the finals and was due to receive the help of Arie Schans at the tournament. Dutch coach Schans will now take charge for the competition, but has only spent a few weeks with his players. Schans has also seen Namibia struggle in their warm-up games, with the team suffering friendly defeats against Egypt and Senegal. With the bulk of the squad made up of home-based players, Namibia's hopes will largely rest on the shoulders of Hamburg's Collin Benjamin.
