Nolan stays with Pools, Prutton concern for Leeds

On-loan defender Eddie Nolan is available for Hartlepool United, while Leeds United are waiting on David Prutton. Nolan was due to return to Blackburn Rovers after Saturday's loss at Swindon, but will now stay with Pools for an extra month, and should start against Leeds. Michael Mackay picked up a knock at the weekend and is doubtful with boss Danny Wilson again likely to be without at least four first-team regulars. Andy Monkhouse, Joel Porter, Jamie McCunnie (all knee) and Ben Clark (hamstring) are all sidelined. Antony Sweeney, Richie Barker and David Foley all came off the bench to feature against Swindon and will be hoping to be involved again.

      Leeds news

Midfielder Prutton is struggling to be fit to make the game at Victoria Park due to a head injury. The midfielder lasted just over an hour in Saturday's win over Bristol Rovers following an early clash of heads with Joe Jacobson. If Prutton is rested, then Leeds boss Dennis Wise is likely to bring Seb Carole into his team. Otherwise, Leeds have no other new injury or suspension problems, but remain without skipper Jonathan Douglas, who is out for three months with knee ligament damage. Jonny Howson is expected to partner Alan Thompson in central midfield, with Jermaine Beckford and Tresor Kandol in attack. Mark De Vries has been ruled out of the Christmas fixture schedule with a groin injury, while Portuguese winger Filipe Da Costa is sidelined with a hamstring problem.
