Tyson: Brighton brace

Two goals from Nathan Tyson helped 10-man Nottingham Forest climb to second in League One with a 2-0 victory over Brighton.

Tyson opened the scoring on the half-hour mark when he arrived at the far post and volleyed home Lewis McGugan's dangerous curling cross which had evaded the Brighton defence.

And the Forest striker took advantage of some even more slack defending four minutes into the second period to double the visitors' advantage.

Tyson broke from the halfway line and evaded two weak challenges before producing a clinical finish beyond Seagulls goalkeeper Michel Kuipers.

But Colin Calderwood's side suffered a setback in the 53rd minute when Sammy Clingan was shown a straight red card after his crude late lunge on Jake Robinson right in front of an incensed Brighton bench.

The home side pressed but could not find their way back into the game, and also have a new injury concern to contend with after Andrew Whing limped off at the interval to be replaced by Paul Reid.
