New Leicester boss Ian Holloway was left almost speechless after a 2-0 win over Bristol City.

New Leicester boss Ian Holloway was left almost speechless after a 2-0 win over Bristol City at Ashton Gate. The manager had almost no voice left at the end of a game which saw his team demonstrate all his own qualities of passion and commitment. Goals from Richard Stearman and Matt Fryatt punished out of sorts Bristol and even the late sending-off of Fryatt for an elbow on Liam Fontaine could not spoil Holloway's day. "I can't speak because I've not stopped talking for the last couple of days," he said. "But I can't tell you how proud I am of my players. Their work ethic was tremendous and I couldn't have asked for more. "I am very disappointed for Matt Fryatt for the sending off. I need to see it again on video, but I expect we shall appeal because it seemed no different to an earlier incident involving a Bristol player. "Matty didn't deserve to end the game like that because he was fantastic for us. But that went for the whole team."

Hiding

Bristol boss Gary Johnson offered no excuses for a flat display on the back of a 6-0 hiding from Ipswich in his side's previous fixture. "We let things slip after Leicester's first goal and I thought it was a poor day for our club as a whole," he said. "Sometimes the supporters have to lift the players and I thought the place went very quiet for much of the game. "The players certainly didn't do enough to lift the fans but we are all in this together and mustn't forget that we are now competing in the Championship. "It looked as though a little bit of confidence had gone from some players and I will have to look at that before our next game."
