Under-fire Sheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws sent assistant Russ Wilcox to fend off questions after their former club Scunthorpe secured a memorable 2-1 win at Hillsborough.
Laws is feeling the heat following another poor display from his side, who appeared to have bought the former Iron duo more time with Saturday's win at Stoke.
But top-class finishing from Scunthorpe striker Martin Paterson sent Laws'

side crashing to a fifth home defeat in the Coca-Cola Championship and left jubilant Iron fans who used to laud Laws singing: "You're getting sacked in the morning".
Wilcox said: "We obviously want to do well in every game, not just against Scunthorpe United.
"But we spent a lot of years there and it adds that little bit of spice.
"We didn't transfer that on to the players at all. As far as they were concerned it was a home game and a chance to get three points.
"But it obviously hurts me and Brian a bit more and that's disappointing."
When asked how Laws reacted to the Scunthorpe fans' chants after the final whistle, Wilcox added: "I don't know how he reacted to that.
"You'll have to ask Brian that, but that's part of the game, the nature of the beast."
Paterson slid home from close range two minutes after Deon Burton had given Wednesday the lead from the penalty spot and then slammed home Cleveland Taylor's pinpoint cross at the far post five minutes before the break.
The Owls fought gamely to rescue a point in front of a 21,557 crowd in the second period, but their efforts became increasingly frantic against
Nigel Adkins' Championship newcomers, who looked very much at home in Hillsborough's grand surroundings.

Adkins insisted Laws was the right man to lead Wednesday out of their current slump and laughed off suggestions the Owls could face a relegation battle.
Adkins said: "They're not going to get relegated are they?
"The table is very close. They have got a good manager at the club.
"I hope to see Brian afterwards, if he hasn't gone.
"Brian Laws did well for Scunthorpe for 10 years and that's why he got the opportunity to come to Sheffield Wednesday.
"He's a good guy. I've been in the dugout with him for 10 years and we shared the hard times.
"That's where people need to support him and be round him.
"We faced the abyss of the Conference (at Scunthorpe) a few years ago and I was there shoulder to shoulder.
"It's about sticking together through the hard times and if the right person is in place you stand by him.
"He should remain manager at Sheffield Wednesday. He's a good one."
