Deivid's spectacular first half goal proved enough to give Zico's men a morale-boosting win over a sluggish Inter.
Deivid had the first noteworthy chance of the game on ten minutes when he saw his header from Mehmet Aurelio's cross tipped over the top by Julio Cesar.
Fenerbahce called the tune early on as Inter struggled to have any impact on the game.
Deivid wasted a good opening on 32 minutes when he played a neat one-two with Alex on the edge of the box only to hit his shot straight at Cesar.
Aurelio went close six minutes later when he headed Alex's inviting free kick just wide of the target.
Inter finally created their first chance of the game on 39 minutes when Zlatan Ibrahimovic teed up David Suazo on the edge of the box, but he shot straight at grateful Fenerbahce goalkeeper Volkan Demirel.
Fenerbahce made the breakthrough two minutes before half-time with a superb goal from Deivid.
The impressive Alex was the creator as he worked his way into the box down the right and picked out Deivid in the box, who acrobatically volleyed his shot high into the net past Cesar.
Fenerbahce picked up where they left off at the start of the second half as Roberto Carlos saw his swerving free kick pushed away by Cesar.

The same player went even closer to scoring just before the hour mark when he latched onto Alex's brilliant reverse pass and fired in a shot which came back off the psot.
Fenerbahce defender Edu missed a gilt-edged chance to score soon after when he got on the end of Alex's free kick only to head his effort over the crossbar from close-range.
Cesar kept Inter in the contest when he produced a brilliant reaction save to keep out Alex's close-range header.
Inter never really posed a threat in the closing stages as Fenerbahce eased to a comfortable victory.
