Leeds snatch win at Stoke

Leeds snatched a 1-0 victory against Stoke after being outplayed for most of the game.

The Potters dominated from the start, and Dave Brammer's low 30-yard effort tested Neil Sullivan early on.

Their best chance came when Gary Kelly was adjudged to have fouled Mamady Sidibe, and a penalty was awarded. Paul Gallagher took the spot-kick, but was thwarted by a fine Neil Sullivan save.

Against the run of play, Leeds scored after 68 minutes, Eddie Lewis coolly slotting home a Jonathan Douglas cross from five yards.

Stoke pressed for a late equaliser, but Leeds held on for a valuable three points.

Substitute Hannes Sigurdsson forced Sullivan to push a long-range shot onto the woodwork and Michael Duberry, against his former club, smacked the bar as Leeds were forced to ride their luck.
