Wolves moved into the top six with a 2-0 win at Sheffield Wednesday, a match which also marked the club's 7000th league goal.

Wolves were on top during the opening stages with Ki-Hyeon Seol pulling the strings but The Owls could have snatched a lead through Graham Coughlan and Chris Eagles.

As it was, Darren Anderton made the breakthrough and created a piece of history in the process.

The former Tottenham midfielder fired past Nicky Weaver and into the bottom corner after profiting from the fine approach work of Lee Naylor.

Stefan Postma was called into action to deny Glenn Whelan and Coughlan headed against the base of a post as Wednesday sought an equaliser.

However the match was put beyond the home side as Kenny Miller capitalised on indecision between Peter Gilbert and Richard Wood to double Wolves' lead on 63 minutes.
