Crystal Palace struck late to earn a 1-1 draw in the South London derby against Millwall.

The Lions should have taken the lead after 20 minutes when Marvin Elliott found himself alone in the box. Unfortunately for him, he was unable to control his header and Julian Speroni was able to turn the ball over the bar.

Dougie Freedman also had a good first-half chance, but Colin Doyle acrobatically tipped his 20-yarder over. The Scottish keeper came to Millwall's rescue once again after 35 minutes, punching the ball away from Freedman's head.

The deadlock was finally broken six minutes later when Ben May rose unchallenged to head Jody Morris's inswinging free kick past a helpless Speroni.

Palace threw all they had at Millwall in a bid to restore parity but Bruce Dyer almost doubled the lead after the break when he powered a header at the right-hand post.

But, with the game looking beyond reach, The Eagles grabbed a share of the bragging rights when Ben Watson popped up to fire home an equaliser deep into added time.
