Moore: May be unchanged

Tranmere Rovers could be unchanged for the visit of Crewe Alexandra, who can welcome back Tom Pope.

Ronnie Moore has no new injury worries following the 2-0 win over Cheltenham in midweek and may stick with a winning formula.

Striker Craig Curran is struggling to recover from a stomach injury so Moore will again pair Bas Savage and Ian Moore in attack as Rovers face their second game in four days.

Moore is urging his men to build on back-to-back wins with another victory against the struggling Railwaymen.

He said: "We want to make it three wins out of three before we go to Stockport next Tuesday."

Crewe news

Crewe have Pope back in the squad for the game at Prenton Park after the striker resumed training this week following a bout of illness.

However, the 23-year-old is likely to find himself behind Anthony Elding and Byron Moore in the pecking order after their performance from the bench in the 3-2 midweek defeat at Yeovil.

In Pope's absence, first-team coach Steve Holland started with Clayton Donaldson and Calvin Zola at Huish Park and sent on substitutes Elding and Moore midway through the second half with Alex losing 2-0.

Their impact was immediate and within seven minutes of their introduction Crewe had levelled the game at 2-2, with Moore scoring the first goal.

Holland admitted after the game that Elding and Moore had given him food for thought ahead of Friday's trip to Prenton Park.

Chris McCready will be hoping he is included in the squad against his former club, with the defender fit again after nine weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
