Sambegou Bangoura grabbed a brace as Stoke cruised to a 3-0 victory over Brighton.

The visitors were the better side in a scrappy opening devoid of any clear chances, before The Potters gradually began to seize control of the game.

Bangoura produced a cool finish after being played through the centre by Paul Gallagher to put Stoke in front (35).

The hosts looked even better after the introduction of Luke Chadwick at half time, and the inevitable second arrived soon after.

Gallagher had already struck the crossbar when they doubled their advantage, Darel Russell reacting first after Brighton keeper Alan Blayney saved Mamady Sidibe's header, and slotting home a simple chance (68).

The Seagulls were rattled and Stoke capitalised just seven minutes later, Bangoura climbing highest to nod home John Hall's cross.

Chadwick could have added a fourth but they will be more than happy with the result, which lifts them into the top half of the table.
