Crystal Palace reasserted their play-off credentials with a 2-0 victory over Burnley at Selhurst Park.

The Eagles never looked in trouble as Clinton Morrison and Dougie Freedman gave them the win that leaves Burnley in 16th place in The Championship.

Iain Dowie's men started the brighter as Marco Reich fired over the bar, and Morrison was looking to get in on the act as he went close with two efforts.

The former Birmingham striker then edged Palace into the lead as he headed in Reich's cross from close range on 38 minutes.

Freedman, sent on as a first half substitute by Dowie, also called Brian Jensen into action before the break although he saw his right-footed effort blocked by the Clarets keeper.

The striker continued to threaten in the second period and headed just over before grabbing his second to seal the game on 78 minutes.
