Andy Booth's 100th league goal for Huddersfield earned The Terriers a 2-1 win over local rivals Bradford and moved the side into second in League One.
The visitors started like a house on fire with Bradford put on the back foot immediately, although Booth's chip drifted just wide of goal.
Town were rewarded for their bright start to the game when Mark Hudson's superb free kick fired the visitors ahead.
The former Chesterfield man flighted a pin-point effort to the back post that left keeper Russell Howarth clutching at air for his first goal for the club.
Bradford made Huddersfield pay for failing to build on their advantage when Bobby Petta's excellent free kick brought The Bantams level.
The former Ipswich and Celtic man curled home with his left foot, leaving Paul Rachubka with the best view in the house at Valley Parade.
The home side began the second half the better of the sides, but Booth and then Anthony Carss both missed chances to restore the visitors' lead.
Just when it looked like The Terriers might drop points, Booth was on hand to guide home Nathan Clarke's audacious overhead kick to bag the points.
