Coventry City battled back late to pinch a 1-1 draw at home to Reading.

The Sky Blues are still unbeaten at their new Ricoh Arena but were indebted to a Robert Page equaliser, after Kevin Doyle had put Reading in front.

In an open game, Royals defender Ibrahima Sonko almost put into his own net, before Doyle prompted a fingertip save from Stephen Bywater.

Brynjar Gunnarsson headed over for the hosts but Coventry responded with Dele Adebola striking the inside of the post.

Just before half time, Reading had a chance to score when Richard Duffy pulled back Doyle in the box but Leroy Lita's penalty was excellently saved by Bywater.

Bywater continued to keep the visitors at bay until good fortune deserted him when Reading took the lead midway through the second half.

Doyle raced clear on goal but was initially denied by Bywater, only to react quickest to the rebound to make no mistake.

Coventry pressed for an equaliser and got their reward four minutes from time when Page planted a diving header beyond Marcus Hahnemann.

There was still time for the Reading keeper to thwart Jamie Scowcroft and Gary McSheffrey but a point was the fair result.
