Sheffield United's 100 percent start to the season was ended by QPR as the London side ran out 2-1 winners at Loftus Road.

Marc Bircham and Stefan Moore opened up a two goal lead, although Steve Kabba pulled back a consolation strike in the dying moments as Neil Warnock's side lost top spot in The Championship.

The Blades started well as both Paul Ifill and Neil Shipperley went close, although Rangers also had chances through Kevin Gallen and Paul Furlong.

Moore was introduced after Tommy Doherty suffered an injury and he made a positive impact when his cross was cleared to Bircham who lashed in a first time shot past a hapless Paddy Kenny.

The former Aston Villa man completed his impressive performance with injury time approaching as he capitalised on Matthew Rose's parried volley to steer past Kenny in the United goal.

There was still time for Kabba to net his second of the season after a goalmouth scramble although it was too little too late for Warnock's defeated side as they lost their early season momentum.

The game ended in acrimonious circumstances as Warnock had to restrain skipper Chris Morgan from confronting his opponents, particularly Bircham, as reports of a tunnel bust-up followed the game.
