Trouble mars CSKA win

CSKA Moscow thrashed Parma 3-0 to reach the Uefa Cup final but the match was marred by crowd trouble in Russia.

After a 0-0 draw in the semi-final, first leg, CSKA put Parma to the sword on home soil but their victory was tainted by the antics of their fans.

Parma goalkeeper Luca Bucci was struck on the head by a flare thrown from the crowd and that could lead to serious repercussions for CSKA.

The hosts took the lead on 10 minutes when Daniel Carvalho finished clinically with a thumping volley following good work by Yuri Zhirkov.

The Italian outfit, with two teenagers in central midfield and Alberto Gilardino on the bench, were no match for CSKA.

Sebastien Frey was brought on for Bucci on 20 minutes after the disgraceful scenes which saw the veteran shot-stopper hit by a flare from the stands.

Parma created their only real chance of the game on 33 minutes when Mark Bresciano's cross was headed down and over the bar by Francesco Ruopolo.

Bresciano's free kick deflected narrowly wide off Sergei Ignashevich before Gilardino was introduced early in the second half.

It made little difference to Parma, though, as they slipped further behind on 53 minutes when Carvalho accepted a pass from Vagner Love to roll the ball past Frey.

The third goal duly arrived just before the hour mark as Carvalho turned provider as his free kick was headed home powerfully at the far post by Vasily Berezoutsky.

To further compound Parma's misery they finished the match with ten men when Daniele Bonera was sent off for a second bookable offence after a foul on Milos Krasic.

CSKA were convincing winners in the end but their joy at reaching the Uefa Cup final will be soured by the unsavoury behaviour of their supporters.
